About the AGK
Summary
- Our association "Arbeitskreis Geschichte des Kartonmodellbaus e.V." was founded 2002 in Neuruppin (Germany) by a group of card model fans especially interested in historic paper and card models.
- Our association has about 300 members (including 8 institutional ones) from Germany, Switzerland, The Netherlands, France, Austria, Italy, Spain and 5 other countries.
- We are registered at the Registergericht Stuttgart under the register number VR 211579 and approved by the fiscal authorities as a non-profit institution of public utility.
- The annual membership fee for single persons amounts to 25 Euro. For couples and families the fee amounts to 40 Euro, and companies have to pay 50 Euro.
- Our annual meeting takes place at different locations in Germany or Europe.
Purpose of the association
- The purpose of our association is to promote the research on the history of card modeling.
- As stated by our Statutes this means an active participation in the research for the cultural and economic aspects of paper and card modeling in past and present times.
- We make our research results available to a broad audience through publications, by participating in exhibitions and by hosting conferences.
- In particular we support measures to further the interest in card modeling, especially if it concerns young people.

Editorial team

Advisory Council
Our club also has an Advisory Council to ensure the scientific quality of our publications. Its members are:
- Malu Schneider, formerly director of the Musée Alsassienne Strassburg
- Prof. Dr. Konrad Vanja (Berlin), formerly director of the Museum Europäischer Kulturen, Berlin
- Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Stopfel (Freiburg), collector of card models, formerly responsible for historic preservation in the Freiburg branch
